Toby seems to have developed an aversion to highways. I'm not sure why. But the topic of conversation in the car these days has revolved around this issue. He will ask, "are we taking the highway or the 'lower way'?" That's 3-year-old-speak for the city streets or the back way. Sounds perfectly logical to me. Tonight after we got off the highway, he needed to verify that we were now on the "lower way" and said, "thankfully, we have a girl in your phone that knows where we are. Sometimes she says, 'turn left now.'" That "girl" would be Siri. He then proceeded to turn his pack of bubble gum into Siri, complete with voice-overs. Too funny.
Where there is no risk, there is no faith. Where there is no faith, you can't please God. The action, the power of the Christian life, occurs when there is faith.

First significant snowfall of the season, and it stuck all day! The weather can't decide between fall and winter--it was weird seeing the ground covered both with snow and colored leaves from the trees that haven't finished shedding the last remnants of fall. I shall call it "finter" and it shall be my finter.
I took a picture of 9:10 on 11/12/13. Get it? One of those weird once-in-a-century moments. Where were you at 9:10 this morning? Or evening?
Also, I managed to get gas this afternoon at one of the last pumps that still had it for $2.99. Phew! Since this morning, all the others had shot up to as high as $3.29 again!! Crooks.

Day #10 β Wake Up and Smell the Coffee Day. We all get so busy that we can ignore the wonders of life all around us β like the smell of coffee when we get up or a friend who drops by to say hello. Today, take time to notice your surroundings and thank God for the things we often take for granted.

Three different events today made for a busy day. I took Clayton & Ruby to a skating party this evening--it was their first time roller skating! They ended up really enjoying it & started getting the hang of it by the time they were done.
But it's Saturday night, and the place was PACKED. We walked through the door and I thought... Whoa... Now this is a blast from the past. It wreaked of the 90's, tweenage hormones, greasy food, & desperation, with a disco flare.
